Evictions

I want to file a claim for rental fees in county court. We won an eviction last week and now need to collect about $10,000 in late rental fees (about 2 months rent + late fees). What legal form do I use in court? I am the lease property manager.

Re: Evictions

Unless you are owed the fees you will have to hire a lawyer. An individual who is not licecnsed to practice law cannot represent another in a lawsuit. There is an exception in Justice Court for eviction. If the claim exceeds $5,000.00 it will have to be filed in either County Court or District court. Before you sue be sure the debtor has assets in the event you get a judgement. Larry Maun 713.266.2560
