Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Family Property

My grandmother and great grandmother both had pieces of property that were never willed to anyone. My father took over the taxes when they passed away and since his death, my brother is now paying the taxes. What would be the steps needed to take place to put the properties in his name?

Re: Family Property

There are a few different options. If you can easily track down the heirs of grandma, and they agree to transfer their interests to your brother, then this can be accomplished without significant cost. If not, brother can file an action in court to establish ownership by adverse possession, which is significantly more costly and time consuming.
