Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

My father gifted me some land that I have up for sale. I now have a potential buyer and during the title search, I discovered that there is a judgement on the land against my father. Since this has been gifted to me, is there any way I can receive sales proceeds without paying towards the judgement?

You took the land subject to the judgment. You're stuck with it.

You might call the creditor and ask him if he'll release the judgment in exchange for you paying an amount less than the full judgment.
