Depending on what was filed, You either need a release of lien if you were deeded the property at closing and the owner carried a note and deed of trust, or you need a warranty deed from the owner if you purchased under a contract for deed. An attorney can prepare either of these for you for a small fee. Please have this done right because it costs much more if the documents are prepared wrong and you have to fix title at the back end.

If you bought the house with a deed of trust, then a lien release is appropriate. If you used a contract for deed, then a deed is appropriate. A law office or title company would be able to do either (and verify the appropriate form needed.) As others have said, do not do this yourself.
