Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I found an expensive watch in the home I recently purchased. I contacted the owner and he said it wasn't his. Is it now legally my property.

Does it have a serial number? If so, you might contact the company and see if they can give you info to contact the owner.

Frankly, it is yours but you can avoid any future problems by making the effort (and documenting it - including your contact to the prior home owner.)
