Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

My friend left his wife 2 years ago, he took with him the clothes on his back the vehicle his mother gave him and his building and motorcyle. He never got his divorce completed or filed before passing away. His sperated wife is trying to take all of the property he owns including what he got after he left her away from his girlfriend of 18 months. Is that legal and what rights does the girlfriend have.

Because he was married to his wife, she owns a 1/2 interest in all property (and bills) he acquired during the time of his marriage - regardless that he had a girlfriend. And, if he had no will and no children, the property would go to the wife on his death.

If the girlfriend made payments on any of the items, she may need to hire a lawyer to try to get her money back out of the situation.
