Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I gave a boyfriend some money $5K. He took it and quickly left me. Is there anything I can do legally. I did not receive anything for the money. He was supposed to buy a car and did not.

Why did you give him the money? Was it a gift? Did you make a contract with him?

If the money was a gift, then you have no recourse.
