Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

good morning, I am having trouble with an apartment complex. I moved in on May 15 and since then have made 15 service calls to the maintenance for my AC not working. they have come to my house about 4 times. they have replaced the outside unit, and checked the inside duct work. something is still not working. I received my first electric bill and it was more than double what I have paid in the previous 12 months for my last upstairs two bedroom apartment. the apartments are the same square footage and both upstairs units. I asked when I moved in if they had any issues with the electric being more upstairs and he assured me that the units were well insulated. I have had to call 15 times, and hand deliver two letters. It was after the 5th call that they finally came to fix a leaking sink. this last month and a half have been a nightmare with these people. I just want out, I know I will not be able to afford the electric bills because I will not live sweating with an AC that doesn't cool. I see in my TAA lease that failure to maintain the AC are grounds for immediate termination of the lease. Do I have a chance at terminating this lease? I have my maintenance call log, I have a years worth of electric bills to compare to this past bill. And I have an apartment that the ac is set on 70 but the unit is 80 ALL day long. Please help me!

In 100 degree heat, you should only expect a 20 degree differential. Google tenants rights in Harris County and you should be able to get help there.
