Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Hello,

On January 13, 2009 I had a vandalism claim to my rent house.

The contractor received a check from the insurance company for $7,977.17 on January 21, 2009.

On August 20, 2009 I received a check made out to me from the insurance company for $1,521.06.

Now on July 2, 2010 I received an email from the contractor stating I owe $1,521.06 after 18 months after the work was done . I had no idea about this amount was owed. What do I do this house is now in the process of being sold.

Review your contract for the work performed and decided whether or not you owe the contractor.
