home association sue

I have been sued by my home association for not paying 485.00 and are talking about foreclosure of my house. What should I do

If you don't want to hire an attorney, you should contact the attorney for the homeowner's association and discuss the possibility of settling the matter. Keep in mind, however, that they attorney will likely demand that you pay the full amount and attorney's fees.

Alternatively, you can hire an attorney to negotiate on your behalf and/or fight the case. Unfortunately, with only $485 in fees being due, it may not be economical to hire an attorney in this instance.

In the future, try to deal with your association fees ahead of time so that it doesn't come to this and become even more expensive.
