Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
Home Owners Association past due fees
I bought a property at the Courthouse public Foreclosure sale March 2008. On Jan. 2009 I paide the HOA fee for this year. They sent past due fee of $910.00 in March from past owners with a deadline of March 26,2009. After writing to them 3 certified letters with no response. I sent payment.
Do they have written Law to charge for past due fees of previous owners when buying a Foreclousure? Thank you.

Re: Home Owners Association past due fees
The homeowner's dues probably have priority over the foreclosed lien. The foreclosure only wipes out subordinate debt, thus the dues would still be outstanding.
