Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

House Remains Incomplete

Our house remains incomplete nine months after closing and moving in. The builder signed a contract stating that certian items would be completed within 14 days. Only 1 of the 16 items have been completed. After multiple phone messages over the past nine months, not one has been returned to me. What legal action can I take to remedy this situation? What are my rights?

Re: House Remains Incomplete

Get the items completed by a 3rd party and sue your builder for the costs in small claims court. Be sure you have a copy of your contract and documents related to the builder's obligations. Don't wait too long, your statute of limitations is running!
