Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
My husband and I have been in a rent to own with our landlord for a little over 2 years now. We only have a verbal contract that states we would pay $300.00 a month until we got a home loan after we sold our first home. We paid $5000.00 down and have paid the real estate taxes for and insurance for two years now. Can the landlord go up on the rent with only 2 weeks notice and then the next month sell the house out from under us?

Visit a lawyer asap...no real estate transaction is valid if not in writing...BUT you apparently have evidence which could prevent the sale...so hire a local lawer asap..and take all your documents with you
