Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
Inheritance of Mineral Rights
I have inherited the mineral rights from a piece of land in Texas that is being used for natural gas exploration. My grandfather (who is now deceased as well as his two children) retained these rights when selling the land in 1919. My questions is, ''How do I know what percentage of these rights I own?'' Is there a chart that shows or explains how the flow of property moves from gereration to generation?

Re: Inheritance of Mineral Rights
If the property is that old, then there is a likely title issue with it. If I were you, i would contact a local title company or real estate lawyer, and get an opinion letter drafted stating exactly who owns what.
