Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
I inherited a house along with my sister, when both of my parents died. She has never helped with expenses. I have homestead rights here, because I cared for both parents before they died. However, now I can not sell, because my sister will not agree to sell, when the house was put up for sale. Can I rent it without her consent or give her the title and have her take responsibility for the house?

You can force the sale of the house by making an application to the court for a "partition". This is more expensive than it has to be. If you rent it, your sister is entitled to half the proceeds of the rent. She's also entitled to half the reasonable rental value for the time you occupied it.
