Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
Joint Mortgage
I have a joint mortgage with my partner on a house. We are seperating now and I need to get my name off of the mortgage. She wants to keep the house so what are my options? She cannot afford to buy me out. I just want out the easiest way possible without my credit taking a bad hit!!

Re: Joint Mortgage
The only way to get off of the mortgage is to have her refinance and pay it off. Lenders, especially now, want all of the "security" they can get. Wish I had better news.

Re: Joint Mortgage
If she can't buy you out or refinance, then you need to have the house sold. Otherwise, you're on the hook as long as the loan is in place.
