Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

land contract

bought land appraised 1500.00. Contract 500.00 down made monthly payment lacked 700.00 but didnt pay for 3 mths due to lost job,owner said ok, 3rd month had full amount, owner would not accept last payment, nor will give us money back. Does he have this right to keep money and land. Cost of land was 4500.00.
