Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

No lease, can new landlord have my car towed

My apartment complex was reasently sold to another company before I signed a new lease and then that company sold it to another still havn't sined a new lease, Well now this new company has informed me with only one day notice that if I don't remove my vehicle (whitch is in need of a miner repaire)within the next 24 hours they will have it towed and stored at my expence, Is this allowed? if they towe my car do I have to pay for it? I have not made or signed any agreement with this new landlord. If they towe it what are my options? the car is in good shape it's not a wreck nor an eye sore, and if given more time (one or two weeks) could be up and running, but they did this whithout warning. what am I to do?

Check you lease agreeement. The lease you signed is binding on the new owners of the apartment complex. What your rights are with respect to the broken vehicle depends on what you agreed to in the lease agreement. City ordinances also play a role in this area, so if its not in your lease it may be that the complex is merely trying to stay in compliance with a city ordinance.
