Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Lease Renewal

our lease on our apartment ended and were going to move to another place that suites us better. our current landlord begged for us to stay, so we asked him if we can have a cat(not allowed in apartments) and he said yes. so we signed another lease in order for us to have a pet. he said that if anybody asked about the cat, that he would say that its for medical reasons. the next day he came over asking us to sign a new lease to input the fact that we have a pet and for us to pay a $200 deposit. can he do that or can i just tell him that im not going to sign a new one. thanks

Re: Lease Renewal

If the only difference is the security deposit, the sign it and be done because that is standard and reasonable. You could fight this but why?
