Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
I leased a house to a couple, Jamie and Chris. Chris was the only name on the lease because Jamie�s credit background would have been a problem with the utilities. Chris has the utilities in his name. Chris called me to inform me that he is no longer staying there. She has moved her brother in the house though I cannot prove this is his residence. Per Chris he is a convicted felon with multiple arrests. I do not want him in my house.
My question is can I evict her since she was not on the lease even though she lived there originally with Chris as husband and wife. They paid rent from a joint checking account.
