Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Leasor Rights

What obligations does a leasor have to a renter if he wants them out to make total renovations.

Renter has them on a month-to-month lease and a 30 day notification to vacate.

Thanks

Re: Leasor Rights

If your tenant is on a month to month tenancy you must give one months notice to vacate. The notice must be given before the next rental period, that is if rent is due on the 1st of the month then notice must be given before the 1st for the tenancy to terminate on the last day of the month. I recommend doing it a few days earlier than that. Make sure the notice is in writing and clearly states when the tenant is to vacate. If the tenant will not vacate you will have to go to justice court and seek a forcible detainer to have the tenant removed. L. Maun 713.266.2560
