A judgement from another state may be filed in Texas creating a lien. However, if you own a homestead, the lien will not attach to the homestead. In other words the creditor cannot foreclose on the lien and take your homestead. Additionally, if you sell your homestead, the proceeds are exempt from the lien for six months. L. Maun 713.266.2560
