Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I live in the state of tx. and my father passed away. i moved in the property he owned and i paid off his back taxes that he still owed for 5 years which i have a recipt for.ive lived on this property for 5years now and the property has not gone through probate court. how can i claim ownership of this property?

I would need more facts.

Did your father have will? If he had a will that gave you the property, you may be able to probate the will as a muniment of title.
