Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

i LIVE IN TEXAS AND I BELIEVE IT IS A COMMUNITY PROPERTY STATE. IN THE CASE OF DEATH, WHAT DOCUMENT IS NEEDED TO ASSURE MY HUSBAND OR MYSELF GETS THE OTHERS HALF OF OUR HOME. WE BOTH HAVE ADULT CHILDREN BY OTHER SPOUSES AND WANT TO BE SURE THAT NEITHER OF US IS IN JEOPARDY OF LOSING THE HOME OR MADE TO PAY OFF THE CHILDREN IF IT SHOULD COME TO THAT...DOES A WILL OR A QUICK CLAIM DEED COVER THAT?

You should make a will.

And/or you can deed over to your spouse your undivided interest in real property.
