I lived in texas for 3 yrs, the last contract expired a year ago, cause i went to spain to see my family, i came back a month after that and i came back to live there and they told me that i was going to be a month to month basis, i didnt sign anything then, and i paid an extra charge for it, but now i leaved the apartment, and i told them 2 weeks before, but now they are saying that i have to pay about 2000 dls cause i didnt give them 60 days notice, but how im supposed to know this if i didnt get a contract for month to month lease, now they're telling me that the last contract is an extension and it become in a month to month basis, but i leaved the apartment a year ago and i came back a month after, and i have to come back to spain, in not a us resident, im a student, i paid punctual every month, i paid almost 22000 dls for the 3 yrs that i lived there, so what happend if i dont pay

In Texas, only 30 day notice is required on a month-to-month lease. Maybe your landlord is from California or Arizona where 60 days is required? By my calculation, you would owe for 2 weeks since you told them 2 weeks ahead of time. If you don't pay, they could sue you in small claims court and get a judgment against you.
