if i've been married 20yrs and am gifted a home from a parent what is my spouses ownership in property in texas

The gift home is your separate property. If you divorce your spouse, you don't have to give him any part of the gift home.

If community funds are used to make improvements on the house (new roof, new fence, backyard pool), then your husband could have a "community claim" on the house.
