Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Mechanic locked out of shop by landlord for not paying rent. My car is inside and I want it back. I have paid in full for the work done so far, and the mechanic wants ne to get my vehicle, but landlord will not let us in. We lve in Texas. What can I do?

go to local justice of the peace and ask for a writ of attachment...but have YOU talked to the landlord??
