Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

New model home

a client purchased a new home from builder and then the builder leased it back from buyer. Now builder has not paid and vacated the homes. In Texas is it required to have the garage area that was used for office to be converted back by the builder? There was only a temporary certificate of occupancy by the builder and they never converted garage or driveway to get a full certificate of occupany so someone could live there. Please tell me who is responsible and does the owner have to convert to garage before we can lease out home or can it remain an extra living area? Is it up to each county or is it a state issue? Thanks

You would need to contact your local Code Enforcement or Bulding Inspector's office. If you are in the Flower Mound city limits, go to the City offices.
