Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Mortgage Assumption After Divorce

I have been divorced 10 years. Husband received the home in the divorce, but assumption wasn't mentioned in the docs. I'm trying to get my name removed. I have filed a quit claim deed and received a letter of release from VA. Ex is unwilling to complete assumption docs from bank. What options are available for me to be released from liability?

Aside from buying the house from Ex, reselling and paying off the loan, probably none. Unless Ex is willing to refinance and pay off the old loan, you are on the hook.
