Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Mortgage Company Padding Payoff

In Texas - My private mortgage company told me not to call the office again. If I had a question, I was to call his attorney. Now his office says not to call the attorney because the attorney is charging the company $200. for every call I make. The company says they will charge the calls I make and have made to the attorney to me. Is there any way a mortgage company can charge me their attorney fees?

It depends. If you are in default, your property has been posted for foreclosure, and you are not curing the default, then the lender can require you to talk to the attorney and will pass through the fees.
