Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Moving prior to lease termination

We currently live in a townhouse in Texas that is leased through the end of August. We have accepted a position in Florida and will be moving prior to the time the lease ends. We have been told that under Texas law, the complex can only collect a relet fee and not the subsequent months rental by virture of the fact that the move was out of state. Is this correct?

Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Moving prior to lease termination

Your rental contract spells out everything regarding early termination of a lease. REad it carefully.
