Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
Can a person press charges on somebody without proof of the accusation? If charges can be pressed, what happens when the accuser has no proof or evidence of the event? Isn't substantial proof or evidence needed to make the case?

"Proof" is not a good word. We would say "evidence."
I can tell a lie about somebody ("He hit me in the stomach"), and that's evidence. The police will (maybe) take the complaint and issue an arrest warrant.
My testimony in court is good evidence, if the jury (or judge) believes me. They don't have to believe anything (for instance, I could testify that I was kidnapped by aliens, and saw Elvis ... nobody is required to BELIEVE this).
