Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Property Owner's Association

I am the pastor of a church that is in the commercial zone of a property owner's association. Currently there are no deed restrictions or covenants prohibiting erecting a sign. In fact there is no mention of the subject whatsoever.

My question is do they have the right to approve/disapprove the erection of a sign that falls under no restrictions or covenants?

Re: Property Owner's Association

You would have to read the Restrictive Covenants that affect your property (they will be listed on your title policy) to determine the answer to your question. Additionally, you would need check out the city zoning ordinance.
