Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I just put up a decorative 6 foot black aluminum fence, with a driveway side gate, which looks like wrought iron, in the front of my house along my patio. I'm having concrete poured within this 10' x 10' space. The posts are all concreted in. I currently have a faux ivy screen netting on the fence until plants start growing on the fence. One of the neighbors contacted the HOA. What can I expect? I couldn't build a back patio area, as the brick radiates so much heat, and my roof line won't allow for a covered patio. I don't mind paying a fine. I wanted my granddaughter to be able to go outside safely, and have friends and family enjoy the outdoors. I'm not barbecuing out front.

You should get a copy of the rules and guidelines that the Architectural Review Committee follows. You may already have them when you purchased your home. It will delineate the permissible actions you can take on the your property and will have the process how to ask for a review of the plans prior to building. Worst case is that they could ask for you to take it down. They may allow it to stay. They may also ask for some type of modification. Since your neighbor contacted the HOA, you should do so as well.
