Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

real estate

I bought a piece of property with a gas easement. According to survey and the property discription I only had 1/2 the easement. Now the gas co. says I have all of it. If the easement is 100% on my property would the seller be the one liable or is the surveyor for surveying the property wrong.

Re: real estate

Hopefully you have title insurance and can make a claim. You would have to look and the deed to see if the seller has any liability. The surveyor may have liability if the survey is not accurate, however, if you have title insurance, they can handle the claim for you.
