Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Real estate contract

I am very recently divorced and the closing on the sale of our home is July 15. My ex has signed the contract, but wants to back out just to hurt me and ruin the purchase of my new home which closes on the 17th. What can i do to make him live up to the terms of the contract he signed?

Re: Real estate contract

He signed the contract and it is a binding obligation. If he fails to perform, he will liable for monetary damages and specific performance (meaning the judge will order the sale). You should tell him to read the default provisions in the contract. Be sure you show up at the closing and perform your part.
