Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

real estate

My parents bout a house together in 6/1980, they divorced in 1981.

The deed shows them as owning it together ''community property''. My dad remarried, the house has been paid off, the deed was never transferred, my dad and step mom are now facing a judgement against them, as well as my mother, the people the house was bought from and their two sons who inherited 2/3 upon their mother's death.

My mother would like to pay the back taxes, but what ground, or leverage does this giver her?

And, since my parents own it together what part if any does my step mom own?

Re: real estate

The first thing you need to do is obtain a copy of the divorce decree. The decree should state the disposition of the house. Also, you should check with the title company that handled the closing of the house, as this should have been taken of when the house originally sold.
