my father past away ten years ago leaving 3 acres to me my brother and sister, but the property in still in my fathers name. the taxes school and county have not been paid since he died, and now is in forclsure. i can not pay the back taxes can i become a squatter or what about adverse possession, and how do i do it. my brother and sister do not care about the property but i live on it.

Pay the taxes immediately. If it goes into foreclosure, that you all will lose the property. To acquire by adverse possession, you must possess for over 10 years, then file a lawsuit that ultimately 'declares' you the owner. You will need an attorney to help you with this and it will cost a few thousand dollars - assuming that no one contests.
