Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
realestate law
I was sold a house that was supp0se to be free and clear. When it was time for me to purchase insurance again, i could not find a company that would insure my home that i purchase a year ago, because all the other insurance companies said that it was a $190,000.00 claim on my home. I found out that the claim was put on the home before i purchased it. The title company did not disclose this information to me. So the lien holder told me that i could not stay in the home without insurance on it. No insurance company will insure it. Sold i lost the home. Is this the title company's fault?

Re: realestate law
You probably have a title claim. Check the jacket of your title policy for proceedures on making a claim.
Re: realestate law
If the title commitment and policy do not mention this lien, you have a claim against the title company. If the seller did not disclsoe the lien, you have a claim against the seller.
