Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I recently installed a privacy fence. I had the land surveyed and determined the property line via the plat. I chose to install the fence 2 feet inside my property line so that the fence would be free from a large dog my neighbor owns. My question is, under Texas law, have I lost this 2 feet of property or is it still my property?? Thank you.

The 2 feet of property is still yours.

There are some exceptions, but most likely the property is still yours.

If you would like a Memorandum of Law of my legal opinion let me know.

Good Luck!

I am an Austin Lawyer and would be happy to help you.

You may lose the property after 10 years. I would get a boundary line agreement signed by you and your neigbor and file it in the real property records to protect your interest.
