Release of Lien

Property was paid in full but, brother had a Deed of Trust created showing $60,000 but, no money was transfered, how do I get a Release of Lien?, the attorney who created the Deed of Trust doesn't want to prepare a Release of Lien and stated for me to do one and he will sign it, what do I do?

There are a few options. The easiest is to hire a real estate lawyer to draft a lien release, and give that to the title company for filing. If no one will sign the lien release, and you beleive the lien to be a fraudulent document, then you can file a suit to remove the cloud on the title (this is a much more expensive solution.)
