removing my name from deed

My ex husband and I bought a house together. When we divorced he got the house but it was not in our divorce decree. I am trying to buy a house now and this is showing up on my credit. How can I get my name off of this legally?

He may have gotten the right to possession of the house, but it sounds like you are still on the note. you should request the bank to take you off the note. They may, but they may not. If your divorce decree is silent you may have to go back to court to get it modified. Alternatively your x could refinance the house. Larry Maun 713.266.2560
