Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

renters rights

I have lived in my apt for 7 months and from the get go I have complained and sent several requests along with a certified request to the corporate office and haven't had anyone fix the leak in my apartment. Over this period I have been told to deduct portions of the rent three times for the inconvenience. I dont feel that I should have to pay full rent for the apartment until the leak is fixed and be refunded the 4 months when I did pay full rent. I received no response from the corporate office on the certified mail, I was told by the manager onsite that he told her to get the maintenance guy to come over and fix it. Should I have to pay full months rent when the complex had this major leak since I moved in and they knew about it and just didnt tell me?

Re: renters rights

You must pay your full rent or risk eviction. If you seek reimbursement from the landlord, and she refuses to pay, you can file a claim in small claims court.
