Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I am renting a condo from the owner. The toilet supply line broke and flooded the unit. My property wasnt damage the owner has insurance but I am out of the unit for a month before everything gets fixed. I was not given a hotel to stay in I was forced to live friends and family. The mortgage insurance is paying the owner half a month of rent. Am I obligated to pay the other half when I didnt live there nor given a place to stay?
