Is there a grace period, after sigining a lease, allowing the signee to get out of the lease?

Re: Rescinding a lease agreement

There is a 72 hour renunciation period for commercial retail contract signers [consumers] in most instances.

Your lease, if between private parties, may be exempt from this provision on the basis that it is not a commercial agreement. If with a property management company or a large commercial renter, it may be.
