Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

My roomate and i moved into a duplex 2 months ago. ever since we moved in, our landlord who lives in florida, we live in houston, tx, gets all types of foreclosure mail, letters from attorneys that deal with foreclosures, and certified letter pink slips. our adress is 12215 troulon dr. houston, tx 77072. is there any way of finding out if our home is really up for foreclosure? i do not mean to sound paranoid, but the thought of having only a couple of days to move scares me due to the fact that i am handicapped, (my right leg is paralyzed from the knee down). any help you can offer me will be greatly appreciated. i thank you for your time and effort. god bless.

sincerely,

leo saenz

Just ask your landlord, assuming you get an honest answer, that is the easiest way to find out.

You can get to the County Clerks property records department and get a list of all of the properties being foreclosed (but that list will be massive and impossible to completely to review in a county as large as Harris County). You may call the County Clerks office to see if Harris County has a simple system for looking up your house by street address in the foreclosure records.

You may also try calling a local realtor to inquire about whether they can find if the house if listed for foreclosure.

Good Luck!
