Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Seller Disclosure Question

I bought a house about 4 months ago. Only 2 weeks after purchasing we had water backing up in every toilet/bathtub, and within 4 weeks from purchase called plumber. He thought roots or some collapsed pipe under foundation were the blame. Three months later, the problem is back and this plumber thinks the job could be up to ~$10K and that seller probably knew because there is a custom clean-out on the side of the house away from the main that would only be installed if there was a problem. He also said that this problem wouldn't have shown up so suddenly. This wasn't disclosed, the seller is a licensed realtor, and I had the feeling they knew from the beginning. The seller grew up in the house and I believe inherited it from deceased parents, so he would have known. There are also signs that they patched up cracks along the side of the foundation (which could be the cause of the broken pipes).

Sorry for the long explanation - would I have any grounds to get some money from them for repairs?

Re: Seller Disclosure Question

Write a letter to the Seller and demand reimbursement. If they fail to pay, call a lawyer. It sounds like you may have a case.
