Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

i signed a six month lease on my house in february, on the first of may my landlord came to me saying that he had sold the house and we had to be out in thirty days, on the twelth he put a letter in my door stating that i had to be out by the twenty fifth and he is only going to give me half of my deposit back, is this legal even though he never mentioned in the lease that he was trying to sell the house?

Unless there is something going on that I don't know about, YOU GET TO STAY IN THE HOUSE FOR SIX MONTHS as long as you pay the rent (you might end up paying it to a new landlord - the new owner).

If someone buys a house, he buys it subject to the rights of a person who is lawfully in possession of the premises - that person being YOU.

Stick to your guns. Don't let these crooks push you around.
