Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

My stepdad died recently, i inherited everything. he had a Honda car that he was paying for when he died. They came and got it back after he died. I am getting athe paid for house & property put in my name & just found out that the car lot that repoed the Honda has put a 6000 dollar lien on the house. Can they do this since they got the car back? Wouldn't this be like paying for it and not having it? This does not make any since to me. Shouldn't the lien be removed or i get the car back, which i know they know longer have? I would appreciate any help i can get. What makes you think that someone "put a lien" on the house? Does it show up in the deed records? Or is it a letter that you got from some fly-by-night bill collection company?
