How do I file an ''action of possession'' in Texas?

An action of possession in Texas is called a Forcible Entry and Detainer or an Eviction. It is filed in the office of the Justice of the Peace that has jurisdiction over that particular piece of property. Call the office to verify it is the proper place to file. The JP office will have a packet for you with complete instructions, including a copy of the required 3-day notice letter.
